Pendant Making Workshop

February 10, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Combine a Mulligans Flat ecology experience with making a unique piece of silver jewellery that can be imprinted with textures of the woodland.

Starting with an introduction to Mulligans flat, our ecologist will take you on a short walk through the sanctuary. You will then stop at the woolshed where silversmith – Ceilidh Dalton, our Artist in residence – will tell you about the ancient art of lost wax casting and give a demonstration on how to make a ring, pendant or keyring. Armed with a piece of soft wax, you will then have a wander and choose the texture you would like to imprint – leaf, nut, bark, grass or feather. Meeting back at the woolshed, you will learn to shape your wax impressions into the form you like.

These waxes will be sent to Sydney to be cast in silver (or gold for an addition cost) and posted to you within three weeks.
