We are currently seeking expressions of interest from people interested in working in conservation and ecology for our internship program throughout 2019. This year, we have three different internship positions available:
Ecology Internship
The internship program will provide you with experience in a range of fundamental conservation activities including:
- Wildlife monitoring (trapping, camera monitoring and spot-lighting)
- Fieldwork organisation
- Data collection, management and analysis
- Assisting with tours and outreach programs
We are looking for people who:
- Have an interest in conservation management and a passion for
- Australian native wildlife
- Are happy to work under flexible conditions including night work
- Are physically fit
- Are fluent in English
- Hold a valid driver’s licence
- Are happy to commit on a casual basis throughout 2019

Science Communication Internship
This internship program will provide you with exciting science communication experience including:
- Social media engagement
- Writing for the public
- Placed-based interpretation development
- Assisting with and organising outreach activities, such as creative arts workshops.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication, writing and storytelling skills
- Has an interest in conservation and a passion for Australian native wildlife
- Is happy to work under flexible conditions
- Is fluent in English
- Loves working with people
- Holds a valid driver’s licence
- Is happy to commit on a casual basis throughout 2019
- Is interested in becoming an environmental Science Communicator

Outreach Internship
This internship program will provide you with exciting outreach and education experience including:
- Tours and outreach programs across Mulligans Flat and Jerrabomberra Wetlands
- Tour development
- Website maintenance
- Writing monthly newsletter
- Volunteer management
Required skills:
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Public speaking experience
- Effective written communication skills
Desired skills:
- Teaching or guiding experience
- Experience using back end of websites/ intranets
- Program/event/lesson design and planning experience
- Experience working with children
